You can test out this application using client / client to view the client folder or admin / admin to view all projects. We developed this application for internal use, so we had to strip out some features such as session control and database integration to be able to release it publicly, but the framework is here for you to use and build upon.
All you have to do is extract the zip file on your server and this application is ready to go. The application uses a php function to read each directory, and only displays directories that start with an _underscore. This allows you to hide certain folders from clients while still keeping your files in one place. The nesting for directories are: _Client_Name > _project_description > image_files.jpg the underscores are automatically removed and replaced with spaces for folders but not for file names. The only file types displayed are GIF, JPG, and PNG but you can easily modify the application to display others.
